Our wealth and joys and beauties celebrate
His wealth of beauty Who sustains our state,
Before Whose changelessness we alternate. Snow.
My whiteness shadoweth Him Who is most fair,
All spotless: yea, my whiteness which I wear
Exalts His Purity beyond compare. Frost.
I make the unstable stable, binding fast
The world of waters prone to ripple past:
Thus praise I God, Whose mercies I forecast. Cold.
I rouse and goad the slothful, apt to nod,
I stir and urge the laggards with my rod:
My praise is not of men, yet I praise God. -Poetry of Christina G. Rossetti

“For to the snow he says, ‘Fall on the earth,’
likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour.”
“She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.”
Adorned by their beauty, I again take a turn in the garden collecting the last of this year’s beautiful peonies for the summer porch and dining room table. How lovely are the peonies all dressed up and waiting for the wonderful click of the cameras to capture their beauty for art on canvas. They are the love flower that cheers the heart of the bride’s bouquet with the aroma of sweetness. They are lovely, they are poetic.

Once in a dream I saw the flowers That bud and bloom in Paradise; More fair they are than waking eyes Have seen in all this world of ours. And faint the perfume-bearing rose, And faint the lily on its stem, And faint the perfect violet Compared with them. _ChristinaRossetti

This is my latest for the Art on Canvas series for Florals which will be available for prints shortly at the JacyJoyPals.com site.
SHE loves blood-red poppies for a garden to walk in.
In a loose white gown she walks
and a new child tugs at cords in her body.
Her head to the west at evening when the dew is creeping,
A shudder of gladness runs in her bones and torsal fiber:
She loves blood-red poppies for a garden to walk in.**

I fell in love with red poppies a very long time ago but tucked them away with a life so full until recently when I viewed a video and was reminded of Georgia O’Keeffe’s beautiful Poppies and photography shoots in our past with them on display. So then, I am going to replant them in the Promise Gardens (I am posting more at the Promise Gardens blog with tons of information) but wanted to share how beautiful they are here and especially for photo shoots, weddings and events. Watch the videotoo and get inspired and jump over to the Promise Gardenssite for more images and information.
